August News - This month we introduce 19 brand new release items into our already extensive range. The manufacturers of Sylvanian Families have really outdone themselves this time and we're sure you'll be nothing short of delighted by the new items that are now available. We'll start with the new Sylvanian Families which include the Elephant Family, and Elephant Twins; and the amazing Meerkat Family and Meerkat Triplets. There's also a new baby to add to your Friesian Cow set, the Friesian Cow Baby! Furniture sets galore have been released this month and include: the Small Bathroom Set, Sofa and Armchairs Set, Luxury Brass Bed, Girls Bedroom Set, Drawing Room Furniture Set, Country Living Room Set, Country Kitchen Set and finally the Country Bathroom Set. The At Home sets have been extended this month to include the Grandfather at Home Set and the Grandmother at Home Set. The Toy Makers Set is another great addition and we are sure that the Motorbike with Sidecar Set (that comes complete with two figures) is going to be a runaway succcess. Finally this month we also introduce two brand new houses, The Beechwood Hall and the Field View Mill.

What are Sylvanian Families (Calico Critters)?

Sylvanian Families (sold as Calico Critters in the US & Canada) are a collectable range of miniature dolls ideal for children 4 years and older. The dolls stand between 4-9 cm tall and are made of high quality plastic covered in fur to resemble the different types of animals they are made to represent. Each of the dolls has moveable limbs and clothing that can be removed and re-fitted. Every year many new families and accessory items are released into the Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters range.

The key attraction for buyers, and especially collectors, of Sylvanian Families is the high quality of manufacture and level of detail that goes into each item: not to mention the good old "cuteness" factor! The craftsmanship and design of the range sets it apart from most of the other alternatives that are available and the unique little animal families, each with their own story, give children hours of pleasure (and many grown-ups too!).
