February News - Sylvanian City is pleased to announce the arrival of yet more new release Sylvanian Families products for 2010. We have now in stock the sure to be popular Friesian Cow Family and Friesian Cow Twins. In February we also introduce the new Rainbow Nursery theme which will no doubt be a hit with the baby lovers out there. It includes the Rainbow Nursery, Nursery Bus for those daily excursions, Nursery Swing Set for fun in the playground, Nursery Bathroom which includes his and her toilets, and finally the Rainbow Nursery Figure Set - four of Sylvania's cutest babies ever. The Courtyard Restaurant is another new addition to our lineup and is the first restaurant we have stocked since we started selling the Sylvanian Families range in 2006. The Dessert Counter Set has all sorts of tasty treats and the ever popular Family Saloon Car is now available in blue so check out the new Blue Family Car. Finally, we have managed to secure only twenty Caravan and Family Car Sets. This set comes with the green Family Saloon Car and white Caravan. We advise customers to get in quick with this item as there has been a worldwide shortage of the Caravan and we are uncertain when or if we will be able to get more of these sets in again.

January News - This month we have received into stock some brand new releases for 2010. The Golightly Silk Cat Family, Silk Cat Twins and the Silk Cat Baby head up our list of new release items. The Bus Driver and Conductor set have been added to our range. This set has been designed specifically for the Woodland Bus. The Postman Set is sure to be popular at only $24.95 along with the Ornate Table and Chairs set for only $9.95. Finally, the terrific "At Home" series is now complete with the addition of the Father at Home and Babies at Home sets. We have also made all five of the At Home sets available in a value pack that includes Babblebrook Manor. This gives you the entire Tailbury Family (six figures), and their accompanying five furniture sets together with the newest house in Sylvania.

What are Sylvanian Families (Calico Critters)?

Sylvanian Families (sold as Calico Critters in the US & Canada) are a collectable range of miniature dolls ideal for children 4 years and older. The dolls stand between 4-9 cm tall and are made of high quality plastic covered in fur to resemble the different types of animals they are made to represent. Each of the dolls has moveable limbs and clothing that can be removed and re-fitted. Every year many new families and accessory items are released into the Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters range.

The key attraction for buyers, and especially collectors, of Sylvanian Families is the high quality of manufacture and level of detail that goes into each item: not to mention the good old "cuteness" factor! The craftsmanship and design of the range sets it apart from most of the other alternatives that are available and the unique little animal families, each with their own story, give children hours of pleasure (and many grown-ups too!).
